Saint Paul Library Scraps Late Fees

Through Imagine Deliver’s work with St. Paul Public Library (SPPL), we learned that overdue fines and book fees prevented people from accessing and returning to the library. We engaged with the community to understand their needs and priorities and shared feedback with SPPL’s leadership. As a result, in 2019, SPPL eliminated fines for over 51,000 residents, making library resources more equitable and accessible. Imagine Deliver is proud to have played a role in this change and has continued to work with SPPL to center community needs in library services.
